My Story...
I became interested in the stock market in college after reading Ben Graham’s The Intelligent Investor.
However, to my surprise, college courses really don’t teach students how to research and invest in stocks.
Instead, they focus on theories and formulas that aren’t even used in the real world. Trust me, I took dozens of accounting and finance courses in college. I even took a few MBA classes!
None of them taught me anything about financial analysis and reading filings.
As a result, I taught myself financial analysis and how to read SEC filings during school. After graduating college, I got my first job as an equity research analyst.
That really helped me further my understanding of financial analysis and researching stocks.
